Cambium cnPilot E400/E410/E500 Configuration Tutorial
Basic Connectivity:
Router (Broadband/mikrotik |dhcp enabled) >>> E400/E410/E500 + LAPTOP
Cambium (Powered ON) [POE port] >>>> LAPTOP [LAN port]
Step 1: Open Cambium controller in the browser.
Step 2: After entering in to the site click on the Onboard Device option from Home Tab of Left Panel.
Step 3: In the Onboard Option, we will get Claim Device option to adopt a Cambium AP.
Step 4: Now we will move to the Cambium AP configuration Part. Below are credentials of default login access of cnpilot E400/E410/E500/E410/E500.
IP:192.168.0.1 Command Line Access:
Username: admin Telnet: Disabled by default
Password: admin SSH: Enabled by default (on standard port: 22)
***We can also use dhcp IP to login to the cnpilot E400/E410/E500. We will get login page.
Step 5: We can see several TAB on left panel. On the DashBoard Tab, we will get some overall information. Some are useful for the configuration; some are useful for troubleshooting.
Step 6: On Dashboard, we will also see how many WLAN’s are configured and how many Wireless clients are connected. It will help us to check the AP after the full configuration.
Step 7: The very first thing we will do after login to the AP is upgrading the Firmware. As shown below. We can see some other useful options under Operations TAB.
Step 8: Then we will use Configure TAB from left panel and its various options to complete the setup. Necessary changes are marked in the images.
Step 9: If we continue on the System page, we will notice below options. We will fill below marked options. Where cnMaestro URL is very important if we want to add this device adopted in the controller. We can change the Time zone or leave rest of the fields of this page as it is.
Step 10: Now we will go to the Radio option from left panel. Where we will configure both 2.4GHz & 5GHz.
Step 11: We will change options for both 2.4GHz & 5.0 GHz as per our requirement.
Step 12: After can make some more changes in this page as per our requirement.
Note: We can change settings for both 2.4GHz & 5.0GHz. We should change settings as per our requirement.
Step13: Now we will change WLAN settings. We can leave all other fields as it is in this page.
Step 14: We will change the fields under Network option.
Note: By default, the AP will be in DHCP client mode.
Our Basic configuration is almost done. Now we can connect/adopt this AP in the controller or internet. We can also check the WIFI settings by connecting/using it.
Step 15: We can use Troubleshoot option for various purpose. As below,
We can use troubleshoot option for some more use as packet capture, logs and see unconnected clients.
Finally, we can see full over view of the configured AP after claiming it and adding it into a Network.
